SCARY POPCORN SPIDERS!!

6 cups of popped popcorn
One half of a 14 ounce bag of traditional caramels (about 25 pieces)
32 pieces of licorice (each about 2 ½ inches lone)
Cinnamon candies
1 Tbs. water
2 Tbs. butter

Have a piece of waxed paper ready and a small pat of extra butter to butter your hands.

Melt the caramels, water, and butter either in the microwave for 1 to 1 ½ minutes or on the stove on very low heat until the caramels melt. If you melt the candy on the stove, be sure to watch it and stir often to keep it from burning.

Pour the melted caramel mixture on the pop corn and mix thoroughly.

Butter your hands to keep popcorn from sticking to them. Then form two balls 2 to 2 ½  inches in diameter. Flatten one side of each of them by pressing the balls down onto the wax paper.

Lay 8 strips of licorice on the flat side of one ball, so they stick over the sides like legs.

Push the flat sides of both balls together to keep the licorice in place.

Use the cinnamon candies to make eyes and a mouth. If the candies don’t stick to the ball, use a little melted caramel from your melting pan as “glue” to stick them on.

Repeat until all popcorn used.

Makes about 4 large scary popcorn spiders.
