Kathy enjoys sharing her love of writing with students and teachers. Her interactive presentations are suitable for grade levels K-5, and can be geared for either large or small groups.
PRESENTATIONS
GROWING A BOOK, GRADE K-4
Where do ideas come from? How does an idea become a story? How do stories become books? Using a power point presentation, Kathy shows the process of creating the Three Bear's Christmas or the Three Bear's Halloween from idea to finished book. Students explore how they can create their own retold tales.
DREAMING UP GREAT IDEAS, GRADES 3-5
Learn about famous writers, musicians, artists, and scientists who created groundbreaking work from their dreams. Students will learn writing nd drawing exercises to generate ideas for future writing.
THE THREE BEARS STORY TIME, GRADES PRE KINDEGARTEN - K
During this lively, interactive program, Kathy reads the Three Bear's Christmas or the Three Bear's Halloween, See pictures of real bears, hear Kathy's bear poetry, make bear ears, sing the Three Bears ' Song.
THE BASICS: A WRITING WORKSHOP, GRADES 3-5
In this small group writing experience, students use techniques including webbing, brainstorming, and mapping to create a main character, plot, and setting for a story.
